Inside of the Jackie Joyner Kersee Youth Center, there is a statue of the Center's namesake surrounded by pictures of her as well. Joyner Kersee is an Olympic Medalist who was born in East St. Louis.

The Jackie Joyner Youth Center Garden helps the community by grow vegetables and other crops by donating produce to charities. The Jackie Joyner Youth Center Garden is two years old and was started by a family farm.
