In this oral history interview, conducted by Karl Lofton and DaQuain White, at the Clyde C. Jordan Senior Center on July 12, 2016, Yvette Johnson talked about fashion and how she had always wanted to have her shoe made in big companies.
She explained that when she was little her mom couldn't cook and her dad cooked only on Sundays, so she went to her friends' and other family members' houses and ate there. She mentioned that she didn't really like Pop and Hip pop music instead, she preferred gospel music. During her time in school she was a rebel who didn't want to do her work, but she didn't get in trouble because she was a daddy's girl, and her dad used to be there all the time.
