In this oral history interview, conducted by Serenity McKenney at the Clyde C. Jordan Senior Center on July 12, 2016, Maxine Isaac discusses how she and her friends were the first black children to attend an all-white school. Although she was very brief about the subject of food, she talks about how she enjoyed the subject of math very much. She and her black friends did very well in school, and there were also few of the students who graduated. She talked about music, how her brother was a jazz player and has his name on the hall of fame of jazz. She says she is very proud of him.
