This picture shows the inside of one of the rooms at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Youth Center. There is a mural on the wall quoting Psalm 149:3 that says, "Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp."

The Jackie Joyner Youth Center Garden helps the community by grow vegetables and other crops by donating produce to charities. The Jackie Joyner Youth Center Garden is two years old and was started by a family farm.

It is a summer school vocabulary contest for the students. a meeting for the parents is also being held. It is in the month of July which to them is freedom month.

The Mississippi River overlook was built in the spring of 2009. The overlook is the same height as the arch. This park is different from other parks because most parks do not have a statue of the person who is named after the park.
