Marvin received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2008. Marvin taught for one year in Madison, IL before moving to Lift for Life Academy, a charter school in St. Louis, MO. Marvin Taught for four years in St. Louis, including three years as science department chair, before moving back home to Illinois. He is currently in his third year of teaching at Southwestern High School in Piasa, IL. Marvin is currently interested in curriculum design and using technology to improve student understanding and interest in science.

Rachel Pehle

Rachel Pehle


Rachel holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Northwestern University, where she primarily studied international and constitutional law. After spending a year living overseas working as a volunteer with several international organizations, Rachel came home and discovered her passion for teaching while working as a substitute teacher. She developed a particular interest in the use of new technology as a means to make lessons more effective and make learning more collaborative and student-centered. From there, she obtained a Master's Degree in Education from McKendree University and is now entering her third year as the computer and technology teacher at St. Teresa Catholic School in Belleville. She's looking forward to a long career

Joe Winkelmann


Joe received his Bachelor's degree in English along with secondary teaching certification from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2015. Over the last two years he has worked with sixth through ninth graders. He is currently a middle school English teacher in Alton, IL.
